How do I update my personal details in CreditRefresh?
You update most personal details from Settings, on the Account tab: full name, email, phone, mailing address, and date of birth, then click Save changes. Your legal name and Social Security number can't be edited directly in the app, those go through support with supporting documentation. Keep your details matching your credit file, since mismatches can block your credit reports from refreshing.
Where to make changes
Go to Settings, then stay on the Account tab, it's the default tab that opens. You'll see a profile form with several fields and helper text under each one, plus a Save changes button at the bottom that applies your edits. Settings also has separate Billing and subscription, Notifications, and Security tabs for other account settings, this article covers only the Account tab, where your personal-detail fields live.
What each field controls
- Full name: used on dispute letters, must match your credit file.
- Email: used for login and email notifications.
- Phone: used for SMS alerts and account verification.
- Mailing address: where physical mail is sent, which is rare. It's broken into four separate inputs, street address, city, state, and ZIP.
- Date of birth: verified against your credit file.
- Social Security Number: encrypted at rest, used to authenticate with the bureaus.
Once you've made your edits to any of these fields, click Save changes at the bottom of the form to apply them.
Changes that require support
Two fields point you to support instead of a normal edit. To change your legal name, the Account tab links to contact support with documentation, since dispute letters have to match the name on your credit file exactly. Your Social Security Number is shown masked rather than as editable text, and the tab points you to contact support to update it rather than typing over the masked field. In both cases, reach out at support@creditrefresh.ai or through the Ask CreditRefresh a question chat in the app, and be ready to provide documentation, since these fields tie directly to how the bureaus identify you.
Why accuracy matters
Your full name and date of birth are verified against your credit file, and your mailing address matters if you ever need physical mail. If these details fall out of sync with what the bureaus have on file, most commonly after a legal name change or a move, it can block your credit reports from refreshing. If a refresh stops working after you update your details, see the report won't refresh article for what to check next.

You can change both from your account settings. Your email address matters more than most settings because it is how we verify it's really you: support requests, billing questions, and data requests all need to come from the address on your account. If you've lost access to that email entirely, contact support@creditrefresh.ai and be ready to verify your identity another way.
Start with the password reset link on the sign-in page and check your spam folder for the reset email. Make sure you're using the email address your account was created with, not a personal alias or an old address. If a payment recently failed, access can be interrupted until billing is current. If none of that gets you in, email support@creditrefresh.ai and we'll sort it out.
Report refreshes fail for a short list of reasons: a credit freeze added after you connected, personal details that no longer match the bureau's file (usually after a move), a lapsed subscription payment, or a temporary bureau outage. Refreshes are soft pulls, so your score is never the issue. Most cases come down to thawing a freeze, updating your details, or fixing billing.
Yes. CreditRefresh treats credit and personal data as sensitive by default. Bureau pulls are soft inquiries that don't affect your score. Credentials are encrypted, used only for dispute work. Your data isn't sold to advertisers or third parties — it stays in our systems for finding errors, drafting letters, and tracking outcomes.
