Yes, it can be safe, when the app protects your data and you stay in control of every letter. We load CreditRefresh only over encrypted HTTPS connections, encrypt personal information at rest in our production database, and add AES-256 encryption to the complete copy of each credit report we store. Card payments are tokenized, so our servers never receive your full card number, and we pull your reports only after you pass identity verification, as a soft inquiry that does not lower your score. Your data is not used to train third-party AI models.
You have errors on your reports, and you have seen tools that ask for your Social Security number and a monthly card. Here is what separates a safe app from a risky one.
Is a credit repair app safe when you sign every letter?
Yes, an app is safe to connect when it is software you control rather than an agency acting for you. Our AI reviews your connected reports for errors and drafts a dispute letter for each flagged item, and you approve each one before it is mailed. We charge no setup fee and no per-dispute fee.
The signature is the safeguard. Nothing leaves until you approve it. If you owe a balance and the creditor reports it accurately, we won’t generate a dispute letter for it. We do flag unauthorized hard pulls when they appear on your reports, and we draft a letter for each one.
What personal information does a credit repair app need from you?
An app needs what the bureaus themselves ask for. When you request your own credit reports, the Federal Trade Commission says to be prepared to give your name, address, Social Security number and date of birth (Federal Trade Commission, 2026). You are right to treat each of those with care.
We pull your reports from Equifax, Experian and TransUnion through our monitoring partner, after you connect your credit profile once. The credit data comes from a third party, Array. Your full Social Security number goes to our identity verification provider to confirm who you are before any pull; we do not save the full number you type, and your profile keeps only the last four digits, encrypted.
The FTC also notes that AnnualCreditReport.com and the credit bureaus will not email you asking for a Social Security number or account information (Federal Trade Commission, 2026). Expect the same of any app. Never email us your Social Security number, full date of birth, card number or photos of your ID; upload documents on the Documents page in the app instead.
Can a credit repair company charge you before it does any work?
No. The Credit Repair Organizations Act (1996) bars credit-repair companies from charging before services are performed, from making untrue or misleading statements, and from advising consumers to make false claims.
Our price is a flat $49.99 a month with no setup fee, and there is no per-dispute charge. You can request a refund before the credit monitoring pull; after your reports are pulled, the monthly payment covers that monitoring period. Traditional credit-repair firms commonly charge $79 to $139 a month plus a setup fee, so check for that line before you enter a card.
You may have paid a credit repair firm already and seen little for it. On Trustpilot, Lexington Law holds a 3.2 across 624 reviews. Of its 134 one- and two-star reviews among its latest 200, 79 say they paid for months with nothing changing, and 33 raise billing that continued or refunds that were refused. Jennifer C. gave Lexington Law one star on Trustpilot on March 20, 2024, and described the billing this way: “Their policy read they would initially charge $14.95 but $99 was withdrawn from my account.”
What credit report fixes are free, and what does an app add?
You have the legal right to pull your reports and dispute errors with the bureaus yourself at no cost, and that route is open to everyone. What an app adds is the work: it reads all three reports, flags items that look inaccurate, incomplete, unverifiable or too old to report, and drafts a ready-to-send FCRA letter for each one. You still review and sign every letter.
The free route is real. All three bureaus let you check your report once a week at AnnualCreditReport.com (Federal Trade Commission, 2026). A bureau that gets your dispute must conduct a reasonable reinvestigation, notify the company that reported the item within 5 business days, and send you written notice of the results, generally within 30 days (Fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 611). You can also dispute directly with that company, which must investigate and report the results (Fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 623).
What you pay for with software is time. We take you from report scan to letter to mailing in three steps, with nothing to learn. Mailing is your choice: print and send each approved letter on your own, or let RushMail, our mailing partner, send it for a small per-letter fee that is optional and billed by that separate company.
What should you check before connecting a credit repair app?
CreditRefresh’s answers are published: you review and sign each letter, the price is a flat $49.99 a month, and there is no contract. You can cancel anytime with no cancellation fee. If the cancel control won’t work, email support@creditrefresh.ai from your account email with the request. We draft letters for Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, and you mail them yourself or send them through RushMail.
Check what you control after you connect, too. In our Settings you can turn on two-factor authentication, sign out of every device, request an export of your account records and delete your account. You can also delete an uploaded ID, proof of address or Social Security card copy on the Documents page.
Read what paying users report, too. Dispute Beast holds a 4.2 across 2091 reviews on Trustpilot, and among its latest 200, 21 of its 33 one- and two-star reviews say they paid for months with nothing changing. The Credit Repair Organizations Act bars credit-repair companies from advising consumers to make false claims, so walk away from any company that tells you to dispute information you know is accurate.
Who sends your disputes, and what does each credit repair option cost?
The options differ on who writes and sends the disputes, how many bureaus they reach and what you pay each month. The table sets out each option’s published price, bureau reach and Trustpilot score, and who holds control of the letters.
Dovly sends the disputes itself, to TransUnion only. Lexington Law’s attorneys handle the disputes for you. With Credit Karma, the Direct Dispute tool goes to TransUnion alone, and it neither drafts nor mails letters. Dispute Beast, like us, is software you control.
| Tool | What you pay | What that buys | Bureaus | Trustpilot |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CreditRefresh | $49.99 a month via Refresh Monitoring; no setup fee; letters self-mailed free or RushMail per-letter fee | Software you control; AI drafts letters, you review and sign; bundled with Refresh Monitoring subscription | All three | 4.6 (22 reviews) |
| Dovly | Free $0 (no credit card); Premium $99.99/year (about $8.33/mo) or $39.99/month; no setup fee published; Dovly sends the disputes itself | Dovly AI writes and sends TransUnion dispute letters for you (one a month on Free; unlimited on Premium, the AI picking which items); weekly TransUnion report, alerts, $2K tradeline, credit lock, $1M ID theft insurance on Premium | TransUnion only | 4.6 (715 reviews) |
| Dispute Beast | Free tool; Beast Credit Monitoring from $49.99/m; Sprint Mail extra per letter, or free self-mail | Software the user controls (DIY AI app), bundled with paid monitoring required | All three | 4.2 (2091 reviews) |
| Lexington Law | $139.95/month, invoiced at end of each service period; 50% off first payment for veterans and active military | Attorney-handled disputes by the firm, not software you control; attorney case setup after a free assessment | All three | 3.2 (624 reviews) |
| Credit Karma | Free (monetized through lender referrals and ads) | Monitoring and lender offers; Direct Dispute reaches TransUnion only, does not draft or mail letters | TransUnion | 1.1 (915 reviews) |
Every price is that company’s own published rate, as its own site states it. Trustpilot scores and review counts as published.
Why CreditRefresh is built for people who want to stay in control
CreditRefresh is an AI-powered credit-dispute tool from Credit Refresh LLC. It reads your reports, flags items that look inaccurate, incomplete, unverifiable or too old to be legally reported, and drafts an FCRA letter for each one. Passive monitoring apps such as Credit Karma tell you what is wrong but do not act on disputes for you; Credit Karma offers Direct Dispute with TransUnion only, while we draft letters for all three bureaus.
CreditRefresh is included with Refresh Monitoring at the flat $49.99 a month. There is no contract and no lock-in, so you can cancel whenever you want. RushMail mailing is optional, for a small per-letter fee.
Skip the paperwork. Start your dispute.
CreditRefresh drafts your FCRA dispute letter and tracks the 30-day investigation window. You review, approve, and send. You stay in control.
Get StartedAmy gave us five stars on Trustpilot on September 24, 2026: “CreditRefresh made the process easy and convenient.”
Credit Refresh LLC is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Results vary and are not guaranteed.
You review and sign each letter before anything goes out. Members who work the full program and see no bureau score rise above where they started can claim back every Refresh Monitoring payment under our 100% money-back guarantee, and you should read every condition at creditrefresh.ai/guarantee before relying on it.
Frequently asked questions
Can a credit repair app take accurate information off your report?
No. An app cannot take accurate information off your report, and the credit bureaus decide the outcome of every dispute. Most negative items, including accounts placed for collection or charged off, may be reported for seven years, and bankruptcy cases for up to ten (Fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 605). We never promise to erase accurate items, and we won’t draft a dispute for a balance a creditor reports accurately.
Can any credit repair app guarantee a higher score?
No. Dispute outcomes are decided by the credit bureaus and the companies that report to them, so no app can promise a score. Our 100% money-back guarantee is a refund promise, not a score promise: members who work the full twelve-month program and never see a bureau score rise above where it started can claim back every Refresh Monitoring payment. File a claim by emailing support@creditrefresh.ai with the subject line “Guarantee claim” during the 30-day window that opens 60 days after your ninth round goes out, and read the conditions at creditrefresh.ai/guarantee.
What is the difference between a credit repair app and a credit repair agency?
An agency does the work for you. An app is software you run. CreditRefresh is software you control, and every letter is reviewed and signed by you before anything is sent. Lexington Law, by contrast, handles disputes through its attorneys at $139.95 a month, and Dovly sends the disputes itself.
What should you do if a company that held your credit data is breached?
Place a fraud alert with one of the three credit bureaus; that bureau has to tell the other two, and the alert lasts one year (Federal Trade Commission). Then consider a credit freeze. The Federal Trade Commission says a freeze is free to place and lift, is available to anyone for any reason, does not affect your credit score, and is placed separately with each of the three bureaus (Federal Trade Commission, 2025). A freeze blocks release of your file to a prospective new creditor, and a bureau must place one within 1 business day of a phone or online request (Fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 605A). If someone may be using your identity to open accounts, report it to the FTC at IdentityTheft.gov.
CreditRefresh drafts a dispute letter for each flagged item on your credit reports, and you review and sign every one before anything is sent. Backed by a 100% money-back guarantee.
