How do I connect my credit report to CreditRefresh?

You connect once, from your dashboard. CreditRefresh verifies your identity (name, address, date of birth, Social Security number, plus the bureaus' identity questions) and pulls your reports from Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion through a regulated credit-data provider. The pulls are soft inquiries, so connecting never affects your credit score.

What connecting actually does

Everything CreditRefresh does starts from your credit reports. Connecting gives the platform read-only access to pull your files from Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion through a regulated credit-data provider. Read-only means the platform can see what the bureaus see, but it cannot open accounts, change anything on your reports, or act outside the dispute process you approve.

The pulls run as soft inquiries. Soft inquiries do not affect your credit score and are not visible to lenders reviewing your file. This is the same category of pull used when you check your own credit.

What you'll need

  • Your legal name, exactly as it appears on your credit file, including suffixes like Jr. or III
  • Your current address (and your previous address if you moved recently)
  • Your date of birth and Social Security number
  • A few minutes to answer the bureaus' identity questions about past addresses or lenders

Step by step

  1. Open your dashboard and start the connection flow.
  2. Enter your personal details. Match your credit file exactly; small mismatches are the most common reason a connection fails.
  3. Answer the identity verification questions. The bureaus ask about things only you should know, like old addresses or past loans.
  4. Wait for the pull to complete. Your three reports load into the platform, and the AI begins its first scan.

If you have a credit freeze

A freeze blocks everyone from pulling your file, including you. If any of your bureaus are frozen, lift the freeze at that bureau before connecting, then retry. You can refreeze afterward, though a freeze will also block future report refreshes.

If the connection fails

Connection failures are almost always identity verification problems, not account problems. Double-check that your details match your credit file exactly, lift any freeze, and try again. If the same bureau keeps failing, email support@creditrefresh.ai with the bureau name and roughly when you tried, and we can check whether the issue is on the provider's side.

Troubleshooting
Why won't my credit bureau connection work?

If CreditRefresh cannot connect to a bureau, the usual cause is an identity check that did not pass: a mismatched name or address, security questions answered differently than the bureau has on file, or a credit freeze blocking the pull. Thaw any freeze, confirm your details exactly match your reports, and retry. If it still fails, email support@creditrefresh.ai.

What's the difference between a soft pull and a hard pull?

A soft pull is a credit check that doesn't affect your score and isn't visible to other lenders — covering things like checking your own credit, pre-approval offers, and the pulls CreditRefresh runs on your reports. A hard pull is a credit check tied to a credit application that does affect your score, usually by a small amount, and stays visible to lenders for two years.

What is CreditRefresh and how does it work?

CreditRefresh is an app that uses AI to find errors and FCRA violations on your credit reports, then drafts custom dispute letters to Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. It pulls your reports automatically, flags inaccurate balances, outdated items, and reporting that violates federal law, and tracks each bureau's 30-day response. You approve every letter before it's sent.
